Review: Wet Happened? Designer Wet Bag

Over the past 6 or 7 months, my 2.5yr old son has started a new trend. When we put him in the car after he had eaten an hour or two prior, he would get sick all over his clothes, his car seat, and the car's upholstery. Let me clarify something though. He does not do this every time he's eaten before he rides in the car. No, he only does this when we are on our way to a scheduled event at least 20 minutes from the house, but never when we are making 5 minute trips or when we are on our way home.

The worst time I remember was when we were driving to a mall a few towns over to go trick-or-treating. All the kids were dressed up in their costumes and then it happened. What a mess! We were totally unprepared. After a few more mishaps like that, we learned to keep a roll of paper towels in the car, a change of clothes in the diaper bag, lots of extra wipes, and a wet bag!

I use to pack extra large plastic storage bags in the diaper bag for messy occasions. Plus I find that when you are visiting other people's homes, they are grateful for your not throwing a soiled diaper directly in their trash because of the bad odor. I was extremely happy when Chic Blvd offered to send us an Itzy Ritzy Wet Happened? designer wet bag to review. These reusable wet bags allow me to make yet another baby step towards being more green.

What I thought about our Wet Happened? Wet Bag:

1) First of all, I love the fact that the bag is not made in a nursery print, but rather in a chic fabric This makes it much less obvious when I am transporting something wet and stinky inside.

2) This bag is quite roomy. At 11"x14", it can hold the following toddler items with room to spare . . . 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, and 2 shirts.

3) This bag is well-constructed.

4) I love the fact that this bag is machine washable.

5) Not only does this bag keep the moisture inside, but it does a pretty good job keeping the odors locked inside too.

6) I think this bag is slightly too small for a beach towel. Maybe Itzy Ritzy would consider making a slightly larger bag in tropical prints just for the beach that can hold a towel and a swimsuit?

Other things that I normally use a plastic bag for that the Wet Happened? bag could replace are storing the toddler's dirty plates, cups and utensils after dinner at someone else's house and storing toiletries that may leak during traveling. It is definitely a good alternative to using plastic.
