It is hard believe that a year has gone by and the opening day for King Richard's Faire is nearly upon us. My family is very excited to attend the renaissance faire again this year with the complimentary tickets we received as a thank you for sharing our day with 3G2S readers. Having attended the faire twice now, I highly recommend you choose which weekend you will be visiting based on the special events schedule and on the weather forecast. The faire will be open every weekend in Carver, Massachusetts from August 31st through October 20th.
The weather in Massachusetts can be highly unpredictable. Last year, we attended opening weekend and the temperatures were in the 80s, which might be slightly on the warm side if you plan to attend wearing a heavy costume. We returned in early October and we were freezing because the temperatures were in the 50s. I had dressed the children in layers under their costumes and they were still frozen. My suggestion is to check the extended weather forecast before you make plans.
