Review: 2 New DVDs from Super WHY and Dinosaur Train

PBS Kids is our favorite station to watch on TV throughout the day because of the good, wholesome, academic programming and lack of commercials to warp the children’s young minds and make them greedy and want everything they see. Among the kids favorite PBS Kids shows are Super WHY and Dinosaur Train.

Super WHY is a show about a young boy, Whyatt, and his group of friends who have super literacy powers and help change stories to end happier. Super WHY: Humpty Dumpty and other Fairy Tale Adventures changes such stories as Cinderella, Pinocchio, Rumpelstiltskin, and of course, Humpty Dumpty. In each story, the kids find the problem and solve it using words, language, and reading.

Dinosaur Train: Pteranodon Family World Tour Adventure has eight stories about the Pteranodon family that show that being a family is about more than just being the same species. I find Dinosaur Train to be a delightful show about truly accepting others, even though they’re different, and loving them anyway.

As I suspected, the kids loved both DVD’s. They were glued to Whyatt and his adventures and the same happened with the Pterandon family on Dinosaur Train. We’ve watched both over and over again, so much so that I almost have them memorized.

You can find both DVD’s at most retailers of children's DVDs nationwide.
