Luke will just start having no clue where he is going with it, the moment I say “who’s there?” I can see his eyes wildly darting about trying to find a visual queue as to what to say next, sometimes you can even guess.
But the cutest of all is when Makenzie attempts the classic Banana/Orange knock-knock we all grew up with. She has attempted it many times, but the majority goes like this:
Makenzie: “Baba, knock-knock!”
Me: “Who’s there?”
Makenzie: “Orange…er…Banana”
Me: “Banana who?”
Makenzie: “Orange!”
I always get a kick out of it, the expressions on their faces and the way you can see in their eyes the thought involved. They are always so proud when they are finished.
I have yet to get them to laugh at mine though…
Me: “Knock- knock”
Them: “Who’s there?”
Me: “Mickey Mouse”
Them: “Mickey Mouse who?”
Me: “MICKEY MOUSE IN HIS UNDERWEAR!”
Them: “…sigh….oh Baba!”
