Giveaway & Review: Sassy Bath Toys & Accessories [CLOSED]

When the name Sassy is heard, one often think of infant toys. I know I did. Then I found out that they actually carry products that are suitable for preschoolers as well. In fact, there are quite a few Sassy toys that can be enjoyed by a young child for years.

Sassy has recently redesigned both their line of bath toys and feeding products. They turned to experts to create toys that foster three very important aspects of early child development . . . sensory perception, fine motor skills, and creativity.

"Child development experts agree that certain elements are critical for an effective developmental toy. You’ll find them throughout the new Sassy bath toy line:

· Character faces: They are symmetrical, bold and organized. Babies and young children respond best to organized images.

· Variety: Babies have a tremendous capacity to learn; therefore, it is important to offer variety in the toys and the experiences they provide.

· Realism: Toys that reflect the real world help baby make sense of the world around her. They open the way for conversations between baby and caregiver, which expose baby to new vocabulary."

We received three Sassy bath products to review that would be useful for households with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers alike. The first was the Soft Spout Guard. I found this whimsical frog to be adorable, as did our children. They couldn't wait to see the water come out of it. Unfortunately, there was a problem that we did not foresee. This spout guard does not fit over the old-fashioned spouts that have the drain release on top. It will only work with a spout that is smooth with nothing else on it. My husband might try to cut a slit in the frog's back to see if our drain release will slide into it.

The next product I was excited to receive is the Fill-Up Fish bath toy organizer. Previous to this, we owned another Sassy bath toy organizer. It was a whale that had three pockets. My main complaint was that the pockets were not big enough to hold all the toys. This new and improved bath toy organizer has one large pocket that is roomy enough to hold lots of toys. One thing you need to remember is to make sure the surface is residue-free before you attach the organizer to the wall. You also have to wet the suction cups to ensure a strong hold.

Our two preschoolers and our kindergartner thought those first two items were fun, but their favorite would have to be the rainbow-colored Count 'n Spell Appliques. The bath is the perfect time to work on learning ABC's and 123's with the twins and our kindergartner had fun spelling. These letters and numbers each have at least one smooth side that helps it to adhere to tile while wet. I definitely recommend buying more than one set otherwise you will be limited to one of each letter and one of each number.

You can find Sassy items at most major retailers of infant/toddler products, such as Babies R Us and Amazon.com . To find a retailer near you, use the Sassy Store Locator. You can keep up with the latest Sassy products by becoming a fan of SassyBaby Products on Facebook.
