Yesterday, we said good-bye to our Beagle Buddy. He had been part of our family for over 15 years and it was extremely difficult for us to determine that it was his time.Buddy was stubborn and hard-headed, as most Beagles are, but he was full of unconditional love and devotion. He was a gentle soul who had not one enemy in the world. Everyone adored him, including other animals.
I took these first two photos yesterday morning. The images below are from the past 7 years or so. It amazes me how much Buddy had changed in those years, from the color of his fur to the increased wisdom in his eyes. I only wish our children had a chance to know him during his youth when he was so playful and affectionate.
My husband and I have such fond memories of Buddy, which we will cherish forever. Just last night, my husband was recalling the first time he met Buddy when he was just a 1yr old puppy. I'm sure we will talk about many more such memories with fondness in the years to come. Buddy will always have a place in our hearts.
