What I thought about these TMNT cartoons as a parent:
1) First of all, realizing it's been 25 years since these turtles made their debut makes me feel old. I actually remember when they first surfaced and it brings back fond memories. Cowabunga dude!
2) Compared to many other modern-day cartoons, I find the TMNT to be very tame. The violence is mostly suggested and overall the cartoon is not very dark.
3) Since my son is on the younger spectrum of TMNT viewers, I found the cartoon introduced many new things to him. It actually mentions real life people and places and offers many opportunities for my son to ask what something is. For example, he did not know what "catacombs" were and who "Leonardo DaVinci" was.
What my son thought about these DVDs:
1) The one word he could come up with to described the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series was "exciting."
2) I asked him if he thought the cartoon was scary sometimes and he told me he did not. Sorry Scooby-Doo! TMNT wins on that count.
3) My son also thought it was very funny that the Ninja Turtles liked pizza so much. I think it makes them easier to relate to because they like something that he likes as well.
In the near future, you should be able to find Season 7 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on LionsgateShop.com, but in the meantime, you can find them on Amazon.com or most places where children's DVDs are sold.
