The first product is the Rembrandt 2-Hour Whitening Kit, which contains 4 applications to be made during one 2hr treatment. The receptacles need to be warmed in hot water to make them pliable. Then there are four applications for both top and bottom. Since each kit is only for one treatment, my husband volunteered to test out this product.
What my husband thought about this teeth whitening kit:
1) The gel tastes like whitening toothpaste, but stronger. My husband thought the peroxide may still be working even after he had brushed his teeth and rinsed his mouth several times because he could still taste the Rembrandt 24hrs later.
2) He thought the kit was very user-friendly overall, with the exception of the first step, which was to soften the receptacles in hot water. Apparently it is a very delicate process and if you make them too soft, then they do not keep their shape well and become sticky.
3) As you can see in the photo, the receptacles are only large enough to treat the front third of your teeth. My husband thought it would be nice if they went back a little bit further into the mouth for people who have wide smiles.
4) The entire application does take two hours from start to finish, so you need to have a 2hr block of time when you do not need to speak.
5) My husband thinks that people with sensitive gums should be aware that the gums around the teeth do get warm and may burn slightly.
6) My husband was pleased with the results. His teeth are at least one shade whiter than before the treatment.
Factoring the cost of $20-$25 per treatment, how long each treatment takes, and the level of ease to use the kit, my husband said that he would use the Rembrandt 2-Hour Whitening Kit again.
The Rembrandt product we both tested was the Intense Stain Toothpaste. Since neither of us smoke or drink coffee daily, we did not have apparent stains on our teeth.
What my husband and I thought about this toothpaste:
1) After using this whitening toothpaste for 3 weeks, we did not notice much of a difference in our teeth. Perhaps 3 weeks is not enough time?
2) I was afraid of what this toothpaste would taste like, but I was pleasantly surprised that it just tasted like strong peppermint.
3) We will continue to use the toothpaste because, in addition to removing stains, it is suppose to restore our teeth's enamel.
In conclusion, the Rembrandt 2-Hour Whitening Kit produced positive results. The jury is still out on the toothpaste.
