Giveaway & Review: Skin Free Natural Skin Care [CLOSED]

For as long as I can remember, I have had a problem with eczema. I have had it on almost every part of my body at one time or another. When I was a little girl, I had it mostly on the bends of my arms, behind my knees, and on my feet. As an adult, I mostly have it on my hands. You would think having lived with this my whole life, I would be use to it, but I am still very self-conscious about other people seeing my hands and especially people touching my hands during a hand shake.

I have had all different types of creams prescribed to me, but have never been able to completely get rid of the eczema. During both my pregnancies, I stopped using anything because the creams contained steroids. Since my last pregnancy began about 3 years ago, I have not been able to come close to getting the eczema under control. On top of that, I have been experiencing itching all over my body from the extra dry weather we had this past winter. Every time I scratched, I would get a new patch of eczema on my body.

When Skin Free offered to send me their Eczema Relief Kit to review, I was so anxious to try it. What excited me most was the fact that Skin Free products are all natural. Having the eczema mostly on my hands, I was always worried about putting medicinal cream on them and then touching my young children. These natural skincare products are recommended for people of all ages, skin types, and many skin conditions because they are . . .
  • All Natural, Vegan Ingredients
  • No Perfumes
  • No Petroleum Products
  • No Harmful Chemicals
  • No Steroids
  • No Colorants
  • No Greasy feeling
  • No Animal Testing, Cruelty Free
Along with the Eczema Relief Kit, I was delighted to receive several additional products to try. Here is what I thought about each one . . .

1) I can see why this soap was awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. The second I put it on my skin, it gave me relief from the tightness and itchiness caused by dryness.

2) It was like using a solidified bar of butter, but somehow it did not leave a greasy feeling. It was just creamy and soothing.

3) After I began using this soap, my itching stopped completely.

After Shower Moisture Spritz:

1) This product is a modern take on the old idea of bath oils and baby oil. Just applying it on my moist skin after a shower keeps my skin from feeling dry all day.

2) It only takes a little bit to do its job, so one bottle should last a long time.

3) Even though it goes on like oil, it absorbs into your skin quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft, but not oily.

4) I expected the spritz bottle to make a little spray when I dispensed the oil, but it actually makes a short stream. In the end, I still have to rub it in with my hands, so this does not bother me.

Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub:

1) I have been using this product on the roughest parts of my body . . . my hands, feet, and knees. It is a great way to take dead skin off naturally.

2) Although, my skin feels smoother right away after using this scrub, I think it will be awhile before I can see a visual improvement.

3) If the sugar hardens around the top of the container, you may have problems opening the lid. The nice people at Skin Free told me that just a few seconds in the microwave will fix this and it did.

4) You do have to be careful because this product is oily. So if you use it in the tub, especially on the soles of your feet, you should be aware that it will be slippery and you will need to wash the scrub off with soap before the oiliness goes away.

1) This product did not lather as well as I would have liked.

2) Although it did not lather, it does get you clean. I used it to wash off the sugar scrub and it cleaned the oil away nicely.

1) This product has rejuvenating properties. I have been using it on the patches of eczema on my hands. I can see that my hands are healing because the old skin is starting to flake and fall off.

2) Because of what it is doing for my hands, I think this product would be great to use on sunburns during the summer.

3) I love this product so much that I keep the container next to my computer so I can apply it whenever the skin on my hands is starting to feel tight and dry.

You would think that Skin Free is only available in specialty stores, but you can actually find it at Walgreens, CVS.com, and Drugstore.com . Of course you can also order directly from the Skin Free website where, for a limited time, you can get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Thank you to Skin Free for making an extremely generous donation to help The Center For Courageous Kids through the organization Bloggers Give.
