HandMeDown Fundraiser (Haverill, MA)

I wanted to spread a little buzz about this second hand boutique that sells upscale clothing to benefit local schools and families. You can support them online at HandMeDownFundraiser.com or at their new storefront in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Please read the following press release. Perhaps this will inspire others to follow this boutique-owner's lead?

"Unique Clothing Resale Business to Benefit Schools & Families

Haverhill, MA February 2, 2009 — HandMeDown Fundraiser provides low cost clothing for families with growing children through a fundraising system which also benefits local schools, daycares and organizations throughout the greater Haverhill community.

HandMeDown Fundraiser is a second hand clothing Boutique that features clothing in a large variety of sizes and styles. To provide the best quality for online and Boutique customers, all items are sorted, cleaned and prepared before any sales are made. Prices are kept as low as possible, with most clothing ranging from $.60 - $5. Customers may take advantage of the online storefront, or the Boutique in the Arts District of Haverhill, MA.

Founder of HandMeDown Fundraiser, Bethany Tavernakis said "Because children outgrow clothing so quickly, most of the items we sell are in excellent condition. As parents, we know how expensive shopping for growing children can be, and it is an expense that keeps coming back as quickly as our children grow."

Participating schools, daycares or organizations are provided with flyers containing information about the variety of fundraising programs available.

"We offer several unique options for families in the Haverhill area," said Mrs. Tavernakis. "We are currently offering a unique program to help parents 'trade up' their child's out grown clothing for larger sizes. We are collecting a series of outgrown TShirts, as well. Once the collection is complete it will be auctioned on eBay to collect even more funds for a favorite charity."

Founded by Bethany Tavernakis, a former teacher and mother of two growing children, HandMeDown Fundraiser works diligently to keep the fundraising process as simple for fellow teachers and administrators as possible. HandMeDown Fundraiser provides everything necessary to assist schools, daycares and organizations in collecting as much clothing and money as possible without having to do the work.
