MomDot Party (Day 10): Decking Out For the Holidays

Click this button to return to the party!

Today is the tenth day of the MomDot Christmas of Dreams Blog Party, which will be running through November 27th, 2008. The topic of the day is . . .

Do you decorate for the Holidays? Do you have a themed Christmas tree? Share pics! Do you think there is such a thing as OVER decorating?

We certainly do decorate for the holidays. I love to do it because it is my favorite holiday. I've had to cut back a lot though since childproofing has been a concern in recent years.

We do not have a themed tree. For the past 13 years we have added new personalized ornaments to our tree each year. They all have our names and the year on them. My husband thinks that our tree is too, but I say if there are empty branches, then there is room for more ornaments. I have had to forego some things on our tree, like a garland for instance. The cats kept chewing through them. To me the tree does not look complete without one.

I do think that it is possible to over-decorate. It has to be so much that it takes away from the relaxing feeling of your home. If you are getting dizzy from the decorations, then you have too many decorations.
