A Boy and A Night Owl

The boy I am referring to is Luke, our 19mos old son. The night owl I speak of is his twin sister Makenzie. They share a room because we just do not have the space until we can move into a larger house. Almost every night, I hear Luke crying and complaining. And almost every night, when I go in their room to check on him, Makenzie is sitting on his pillow right next to his head with a big smile on her face.

Sometimes I think she is sitting there trying to be nurturing towards her brother. I have witnessed Makenzie sitting herself down next to him before while he was lying on the sofa. After she sat down, she started to stroke his head gently.

That's just one theory though. My other theory is that she is trying to torture him by sticking her fingers in his eyes and his ears until he wakes up to play with her. Eventually, he does become fully awake and wants to play. This would not be a problem if it was not 2 o'clock in the morning.

I have tried tucking her back into bed again and again. I have tried the stern look and the pointed finger. There is only so much you can do at 2am. Anyone have any suggestions?
