A hot topic that stemmed from a segment on the 2008 MTV Music Awards is a prop created by International Oddities used in the movie Pineapple Express starring Seth Rogan and James Franco. The item I am referring to is a smoking product . . . a legal bud that contains no tobacco and resembles marijuana. Not only is this product legal to roll and smoke, it also smells like the real thing.
This breakthrough invention of International Oddities has been 25 years in the making. Since it was revealed by Seth Rogan that this product was used in almost every scene of the movie Pineapple Express, it has become more widely accepted. Although tobacco-free, this product can be purchased in tobacco and smoke shops all across the United States in addition to the International Oddities website. This high end product, already popular in wealthier circles, may become more mainstream since the publicity it received from the humorous segment on this year's MTV Music Awards show. It will be interesting to track how the hype of this legal roll-your-own smoking product will effect sales in the coming months and even years. Will the hype continue as other movie and even television shows, such as My Name is Earl and L.A. law, follow in Pineapple Express' footsteps to utilize this prop on the big and small screen?
Thank you to International Oddities for sponsoring this post.
