A few weeks ago, we had celebrated our now 9 year old son's birthday by going out for dinner to the restaurant of his choice. Usually our children only discuss their dining experience if they really did not like their dinner. Only occasionally will we hear a declaration that this is the best (such-and-such) they have ever had. So it was out of the ordinary for our 6 year old daughter to be discussing her thoughts on the food, especially after we had already left the restaurant and had returned home.
Makenzie: "Baba what were those applespires called that we had at the restaurant? I really liked them."
Todd: "You mean the appetizers?"
Makenzie: "Yeah, the appletires. What were they called?"
