AMULET Book Four: The Last Council

Kazu Kibuishi's thrilling, NEW YORK TIMES bestselling series continues!

Emily and her friends think they’ll find the help they need in Cielis, but something isn’t right. Streets that were once busy are deserted, and the townspeople who are left live in fear. Emily is soon escorted to the Academy, where she’s expected to compete for a spot on the Guardian Council, a group of the most powerful Stonekeepers. But as the number of competitors gets smaller and smaller, an awful secret is slowly uncovered – a secret that, if left buried, means the certain destruction of everything Emily fights for.

Our nearly 8 year old son is a huge fan of shows like Avatar:  The Last Airbender, so I knew he would enjoy the Amulet book series.  Before Amulet, he had only read a small handful of graphic novels.  Being an avid reader, he is not one to read just a single book in a series.  We were happy to add all four of the existing Amulet books to our library of Scholastic books.

Please take two minutes to watch this trailer of The Last Council . . .

What my son thought about AMULET the book series . . .

"I like this series because there's all kinds of robots and monsters.  My favorite characters are Leon and Trellis.  Leon is a bounty hunter that takes paying jobs.  Weird thing for a bounty hunter is that he's a fox.  Trellis is the Elf Prince.  He's one of my favorites because he has all sorts of armor and powers."

"At the end of Book Three, they hire a captain and a crew and the ships are blimps.  They go to a flying city called Cielis.  In Book Four, Emily's friend Max helps them to Cielis.  Emily and her friends Max, Pierce, and Ronin all get sent to the academy to train to be official Stonekeepers.  The exciting part of the book was when Leon and Trellis fought evil alien soldiers.  An old man they meet invites Emily to be an official Stonekeeper.  I wonder if Leon ends up to be like Jet in Avatar:  The Last Airbender in the next book?"
