Review: The Best of Sesame Street Spoofs Volume 1 & 2 (DVD)

For more than 40 years, Sesame Street has been entertaining children and parents. Sesame Street’s newest DVD set is spoofs of popular TV shows past and present. The Best of Sesame Street Spoofs Volumes 1 & 2 features spoofs such as TrueMud, Dirtiest Jobs, RSI: Rhyme Scene Investigators, Desperate Houseplants, and many more. Each is a short clip, only a few minutes long, that gives a unique Sesame Street spins to television.

My kids’ favorite was Jon & Kate Plus 8, which featured the parents needing Count’s help to count their many children. My favorite was Six Feet Under, which had them counting six feet under the table, TrueMud, which featured a “grouch” ordering TrueMud in a restaurant, and Desperate Houseplants, the story of houseplants not getting what they need. Even I, as an adult, was entertained by these two DVD’s and found the spoof spin hilarious. Whether you are a Sesame Street fan or not, you’ll enjoy these cute little stories Sesame Street Spoofs has to offer.

You can buy The Best of Sesame Street Spoofs online or at many major local retailers of children's DVDs.
