Stocking Stuffers 2010: Hasbro Spider-Man & Transformers Action Figures

No holiday stocking for an early grade school-aged boy is complete without at least one action figure. Hasbro has lots of new ones this year priced at $9.99 or less in the Transformers, Spider-Man, and Star Wars brands.

One of the newest lines for Transformers is the Transformers Power Core Combiners. This new assortment is for the collector and the builder. Each of the figures in the 2-pack combine, but you can also combine figures from multiple packs to create larger robots. The 2-packs retail for $9.99 each, but there are also 5-packs available for $19.99 each. This line of Transformers is recommended for ages 5 and up and comes with complete instructions. The set we received featured Smolder and Chopster.

One super hero who is always a hit in our house is Spider-Man. There is a huge variety of Spider-Man action figures available starting at $6.99 . We received the Web-Slinging Spider-Man, which is recommended for ages 4 and up. This particular figure was perfect for our nearly 4 year old son. It does not have multiple small parts like some figures. The suction cups work well on windows, the refrigerator, laminate tabletops and counter tops to prompt imaginative play.

If you are shopping for siblings, do not feel you need to purchase figures from the same line. My boys have no qualms about combining similarly-sized figures from different brands in their pretend play scenarios.

You can see all the available Hasbro action figures on Hasbro.com and HasbroToyShop.com . Of course you can find Hasbro figures at your local ToysRUs, Wal-Mart, Target, and most places where Hasbro toys are sold.

Thank you to Hasbro for providing us with complimentary product samples to base this review upon.
