Giveaway & Review: PowerCapes Personalized Super Hero Capes [CLOSED]

TWINtuitive Product #26

I chose these custom or personalized superhero capes by PowerCapes to feature as a "TWINtuitive Product" because these adorable and affordable capes truly allow a child to express his or her individuality . . . something that is so important in a household with multiples. For our 3-1/2 year old twins, I allowed them to choose the emblem, but they were too indecisive about the colors, so I ended up choosing what I thought they each would like. Our 6-1/2 year old son has already made me promise to buy him a PowerCape too. I know he would be able to choose exactly what color cape, emblem, and emblem color he would like for himself.

If you are an indecisive person, then you are in trouble. These superhero capes come in 11 different colors. The emblems are available in 7 different shapes. There are 34 different fabrics available for the emblems and the initials. The only easy decision you will have is that of selecting the initial for each cape.

As you can see, opting for the 22" Sidekick kids capes was the right choice for us. These capes will last both twins quite a few years (even if Luke does decide to sprout up and catch up to Makenzie). These capes also come in a 30" Hero length and a 48"SuperHero adult size.

Below you can see the details of the appliques. I love how PowerCapes used sort of an ombre multicolored thread for my daughter's emblem and initial.

Each cape has a Velcro closure at the neck. This was the only place where I found very minor imperfections with loose threads. Again there is plenty of room for our children to grow and to use these capes for many years to come.

I found it amusing how different each twin's vision was about how a super hero's persona should be. Our daughter thought a super hero with a pink cape should be majestic and graceful like a princess. Our son envisioned a super hero to be strong and tough.

If you are purchasing these capes for a costume or a recital, keep in mind that they are made of satin and do wrinkle. I keep ours hanging up in a closet when not in use. This also helps keep the twins from leaving them around in random places to get trampled upon.
