Children's Dental Health Month: A&H Spinbrush for Kids Giveaway [CLOSED]

Since our 6yr old got his first battery-powered toothbrush, I knew it was the solution to helping him brush better. He is a lazy brusher when it comes to his teeth, so having the toothbrush do most of the work was a great idea.

Now that our twins are 3 years old, I wondered if they could benefit from an electric toothbrush like their big brother. They have brushing their front teeth down pat, but all the other teeth get neglected. Since Spinbrush for Kids battery-powered toothbrushes are recommended for children ages 3 and up (with parental supervision), I thought we should give them a try.

We received three Spinbrushes to try out . . . a skateboard with flames for our kindergartner, a butterfly for our daughter, and an astronaut (he thinks it's a robot) for her twin brother. We also received some Orajel training toothpaste that is fluoride-free to help the twins practice brushing with toothpaste while learning not to swallow it.

Our main concern about introducing the battery-powered toothbrushes to our preschoolers was that they might not care for the noise and the vibration. My husband and I were just hoping that they would want to use them in order to be like their big brother who uses one everyday. Our prediction was correct in our daughter's case. She didn't even want to hold the Spinbrush while it was turned on. Her twin brother, however, was much more open to the idea. He even tried to brush on his own. He did well with the front, but needed help brushing the back teeth.

Our kindergartner tried to show his younger siblings how it was done. The smaller heads on these Spinbrushes were the perfect fit for him. It would be wonderful if they made replacement heads for these toothbrushes.

I think these toothbrushes would be great for children ages 4 to 8. A 3yr old might be able to use it, but an adult would have to turn it on for the child because the switch on some of them are a little stubborn. I like that the Spinbrush stays on with a push of a switch so that there is no need to hold a button down during brushing.

As for the training toothpaste, the twins need a lot more practice with it since they can barely lean into the bathroom sink even while standing on a stepstool. We already know the Orajel training toothpaste is a great product because we used it for our son until his 6th birthday when he was able to switch to toothpaste containing fluoride.

You should be able to find Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes for both adults and children along with Orajel training toothpaste wherever dental care products are sold, including your local pharmacy and grocery store.

Thank you to Arm & Hammer and Orajel for sending us sample SpinBrushes, training toothpaste, and other Orajel products to try and also for providing a SpinBrush for our contest prize.
