Giveaway & Review: Aurora Photo Editing Software (10 Winners) [CLOSED]

If you've looked around my blog, then you know that I take quite a few photos each week of my children and for product reviews. You can imagine how thrilled I was when I was offered a chance to review the new Aurora photo editing software, which was just released in April '09 by LightCrafts. What makes this software unique is that it uses an algorithm that processes images like the human eye does.

I have to point out that Aurora does much more than just edit digital photos. It organizes your photos in a way that you can file them and rename them very easily. It also allows you to share your photos instantly through Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and even your email. Another plus is that you can purchase online back-up for your photos through Aurora for just a few dollars per month.

What I thought about the Aurora Photo Editing Software:

1) Aurora automatically indexes all the photos you have saved within your computer's "Pictures" folder once you open the application. This is an extremely convenient feature.

2) After editing a photo, you can click "Save" and the new version of your photo will automatically be saved in the same folder as the original with an "_au" tacked onto the name so you can easily differentiate between them.

3) This software is extremely user-friendly. It shows you previews of the different edits in increments, so you don't have to test each one out one at a time.

4) Take a look at the photo below, which has so many things wrong with it. The color is too red, the lighting is too dim, and it is slightly out of focus. Aurora allows me to adjust the lighting, crispness, the color strength, warmth of the colors, change my photos to black and white, add a tint, fix any red-eye, plus crop and straighten my photos.

5) It took me literally only seconds to go from the above photo to the one below. I used three filters . . . the auto-relighting, Crispness #2, and Cooler #1. What an improvement!

After taking Aurora for a test drive, I do think I would use this software almost daily . . . it is that convenient to use. If you would like to try Aurora for yourself, you can download a 7-day free trial on the Aurora website.

What you can win:
TEN lucky readers will receive their own downloadable version of Aurora Photo Editing Software (Valued at $19.95 each). PLEASE NOTE: This version of Aurora is currently only available for PC users.
