This is an awesome giveaway! Thanks!

I also like to eat all of our other meals together because it's fun to start the morning off with the girls in a good mood and laughing. Nothing bad has happened and neither one of them is upset. They've just woken up, they are happy and watching them sip their milk and eat their toast is so peaceful!
Posted on November 14, 2008 at 9:09 PM
And finally, I like to each lunch with the girls (and Daddy most days) because it means half the day is over and it's almost nap time! LOL!

With all our little ones, dinner is often a very loud and messy affair. :) But I love gathering them all together and starting the tradition now so that when they are older and busy with various things, hopefully this shared meal will remain an important part of our day.

One thing I enjoy about eating together at home as a family....spending time talking with my girls. My daughters are 13 and 10 and we sit down every night at the kitchen table for dinner as a family, even if we order pizza. We just talk about our day or joke around. My daughters friends all like coming over for dinner (they have to sit at the kitchen table too, lol). Also, my daughters really got to know my fiance over the last 5 years because of dinner time :)

Family dinners are also about cooking. My daughters love to help cook and they are really quick learners. They have actually made appitizers they have seen on the cooking channel :)
Posted on November 15, 2008 at 1:23 AM
I also have a 21 yr old son who has my 16 month old grandson. When they come over and I'm cooking, my grandson pushes his highchair (it has wheels) to the kitchen table. I think he already enjoys dinner time. But then again he is a ham and loves the attention he gets when he's making a mess with dinner :)
Posted on November 15, 2008 at 1:25 AM
I grew up with sitting down to family dinner every night. I have so many fond memories. I hope my kids take the same memories. It's sad that all kids can't grow up like this. My kids also have excellent manners, they ask to be excused and clear they plate. My parents, my siters, and I still tend to congregate at the kitchen table at my parents house, lol
Posted on November 15, 2008 at 1:30 AM
We have a big family. Dinner time is the ONLY time we all get together in the same day and hook up. It is a chance to make sure everybody in our family is remaining bonded and concerned for each other. It is where we share our joys, struggles, and hopes.
It is also where I get to hear everybody's input about how they want me to prepare their food next time. Do I look like a short-order cook??? LOL!
This is a great giveaway! Thank you!

I love how my son and my husband chat about the day when they eat together, he'll talk about pre school, going to the park etc.
Posted on November 16, 2008 at 4:35 PM
Being together also gives me time to talk to my husband on a more informal level.
I usually have a list that I talk him through before he goes to work and he answers yes/ no. (He works nights as it pays better)
So, when we eat, we can chat about nothing important and just enjoy the moment.

I like meals together with my family, because we get to see the kids make faces when they try new foods. Always good for a laugh!

I love to look around the table and see my sisters. We do not see each other but twice a year and I just love it when we can all come together to eat, and talk about when we were little. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love eating together as a family because it is one time where we can all sit down and talk to each other about our days and our lives. Things get so hectic that we all tend to forget how important family is.

What I love about dinner time is that it feels like it's finally the time of the day when things wind down! With kids to take care of during the day, places to go, things to do, hubby's come home, we all sit down and just relax!

I love that in our home, dinner can be a time to create and have fun with meals! I have a calendar and when it's someone's turn, they can write down what they'd like for dinner, so they have the opportunity to have it be "their" day for dinner!

In a religious point of view, sitting down as a family for dinner is a great way to ask questions and have a religious discussion. I especially love Sunday Dinner's when we come home from church and sit down to eat as a family and talk about what we learned that day throughout our different classes!
